Toronto Patio Szn in Effect

Michelle here, coming at you from Toronto! ICYMI Sup opened two Toronto shops in 2020. I’ve had the pleasure of working at both locations as the Operations Manager. We all know and love the Summerhill shop that opened in July 2020 - but did you know that we opened up another one at 49 Spadina at the beginning of December 2020?  That’s right, two weeks after Ontario went into lockdown, we opened up our second shop in a beautiful heritage building right in the heart of downtown Toronto. We’re at the northeast corner, right below one of the best LCBO locations in the province.

As Ontario opens up and the days get hotter, I’m so stoked to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors. It’s high time we all get the proper Big Smoke summer we’ve been waiting for. Patios - I’m looking at you! While you’re boppin’ around TO, make sure to stop by Superette Summerhill or Superette Spadina to stock up on some fresh flowers, edibles, cold infused bevvys or a pre-roll (or two). Sup is your one-stop-shop for essential goods to fire up patio szn with your best buds.

Let’s kick off the summer the right way and get Seriously Recreational about getting outside. I put together a list of my favourite patios to hit up to cool down after consuming your favourite Superette goods. From Midtown to Downtown Toronto, I’ve got you covered. It’s finally #PatioSzn, ya’ll!

Toronto Midtown

(close to Superette Summerhill 😉)

Chadwicks

268 Howland Ave

Let’s zip up to the Upper Annex! Chadwicks is a sustainable-sourcing kitchen that’s been kicking it for the past ten years and features some great global-fusion eats with a secluded intimate back patio.

The Rebel House

1068 Yonge St

With its inspiration rooted in taverns of old, they pride themselves on being a community meeting place for neighbours and newcomers to gather and meet in a casual setting. Expect Ontario brews on tap and Ontario wines available plus reinvented farmhouse cooking to suit any craving. Their back patio is a little slice of escape in the Rosedale neighbourhood and only a few blocks away from our Summerhill location.

The Rosedale Diner

1164 Yonge St

If you’ve ever visited Summerhill and rang up the burger phone for munchies - you were calling this classic diner. Rosedale Diner has been serving the Summerhill neighbourhood for over 28 years. Trust us when we say they know what’s up - especially in the burger department.

Toronto East End

Broadview Hotel

106 Broadview Ave

Another beauty of a rooftop patio because we love some HIGH VIBES! You get a total 360 view of the iconic Toronto skyline with a tantalizing menu of tasty baos, small and large plates for sharing plus an array of delicious cocktails.

Lavender Menace

1062 Gerrard St E

Pre-pandemic Gerrard St was becoming the next vibrant neighbourhood bustling with amazing new bars and restaurants. Let’s keep that momentum going! Lavender Menace is a brand new LGQTB+ friendly establishment with an inclusive environment and a dreamy patio opening up on June 17th. Lavender Menace is a lesbian owned & operated LGBTQ+ retro gathering place for anyone who wants good drinks, good food, and good company at our cocktail bar & restaurant.

Toronto West End

The Alpine

2872 Dundas St W

For those true West-Enders - we got you! The Alpine has a secluded backyard beer garden. With 26 beer taps, it’s a beer lover’s dream. Don’t fret if you’re not a beer drinker, they also have curated a selection of Ontario wines and a list of local-inspired cocktails. As for the food menu, it's self-described as elevated comfort food with inspiration from European taverns with focus on real, simple ingredients done well!

Venice Beach Bar

1251 Dundas St. W

If you’re itching to travel, then this is the patio for you! Venice Beach Bar has transformed a parking lot into a California retreat with just some pastel paint. Toronto is the city of new experience patios and this one definitely humours that travel bug within.

Toronto Downtown

(close Superette Spadina 😉)

Bar Hop

137 Peter St

Just a short jaunt from our Spadina location, this rooftop patio has all the best vibes for beer lovers, featuring an array of Ontario craft beers and ciders both on tap and in the fridge. The takeaway bottle shop also stocks unique offerings that are not your regular LCBO staples. As for food, I would recommend the Peanut Butter Bacon Burger… trust me, it’s a stoner’s dream.

Collective Arts Toronto

777 Dundas St W

The OG Collective Arts Brewery is out in Hamilton. But last summer, they came to the Toronto core! Whether it’s dining on their cute side patio or grabbing goods to enjoy at Trinity Bellwoods Park, their fusion food menu features tacos, empanadas and fried chicken! Also they are practically neighbours with our Bellwoods location which will be opening soon…

Pennies near Spadina

127 Strachan Ave

This chill patio is a short hop, skip and jump from our Spadina shop. Expect tasty small bites (sliders galore, corn dogs, mac & cheese, etc.) and cool drinks. This expansive patio is low-key and is the perfect place to catch some rays and catch up with friends.

Stackt Market

28 Bathurst St

Within this market, there are THREE dining areas - Belgian Moon Brewery with Joybird, Terrace with Cointreau Garden and Jack Shack (for beverages only) and the Pavilion with the fabulous and well-known Momofuku Noodle Bar! It’s a little escape in the downtown core surrounded by great views. Soon, you just might see a sneaky Superette surprise at Stackt :)

Sweaty Bettys

13 Ossington Ave

This small yet feisty bar has been holding its own for the past 17 years in this everchanging city. The cozy back patio has those sweet, chill vibes with good tunes and cool drinks. This OG is definitely worth keeping in your patio rotation.
